How it works

How many names?
A counter sets how many students to draw, from one up to the number present. The names always come out different: the same student never appears twice in one draw.

Always among those present
The pool is the one set by the “Draw from” selector: the whole class, the boys or the girls. Students marked absent are left out without you having to think about it.

One draw, then another
“Draw again” restarts immediately on the full pool. Every name drawn is written to the draw log, which you find in the board’s History section with Kliip Premium; without a subscription, the latest name drawn stays shown in the tool.
When it really earns its place
When the wheel would take too long
The wheel is a spectacle, and sometimes that is exactly what you do not want. At the end of a session, or mid-explanation, the instant draw does the same job without breaking the rhythm.
Putting a small group together
Three students to fetch the equipment, five to come up to the board: one draw is enough, and the number is set before you press the button.
What it does, and what it does not
This tool and the wheel share the same list, the same selector and the same log. What separates them is the staging: one shows chance happening, the other settles it.
It needs at least one present student. The counter only appears from two upwards — below that there would be nothing to set.
The names never leave your browser. No account is asked for, and nothing you draw is sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
How is it different from the wheel?
In the outcome, not at all: both pick from the same pool of present students, under the same rules — including “Favour those drawn least”, which gives exactly the same odds on either side. The wheel stages the draw for the class and removes the winner from later spins; this one answers on the spot and can produce several names at once.
Can a student come up twice in the same draw?
No. If you ask for three names, you get three different students. Two successive draws are independent, though: the same student can come up in one and then the other.
Can I draw among the girls or the boys only?
Yes, through the “Draw from” selector. The subgroup you choose applies to this tool just as it does to the wheel, and absent students stay excluded.
Where do I find the names already drawn?
In the board’s History section, with Kliip Premium. The log keeps the recent draws with their time, and empties with one button whenever you want; without a subscription, the latest draw stays shown in the tool.
