How it works

A date, a name
A date field and a title field. The name appears above the count — “Museum trip”, “Mock exam” — so that the number is never left standing on its own.

Days, then hours
The count runs down to the start of the target day, at midnight. It shows the days left and, beneath them, hours, minutes and seconds ticking in front of the class.

On the day, it says so
When the date arrives, the count gives way to “The big day is here!”. Nothing to watch for, nothing to clear the night before.
When it really earns its place
A wait worth sharing
The trip, the residential, the end-of-year party. The countdown becomes a morning ritual, and repeating it five times a day stops being necessary.
Revision before an exam
Kept permanently in a corner of the canvas, next to the instructions, it puts a concrete scale on “there is still time” — which reads very differently at thirty days and at six.
What it does, and what it does not
The count targets midnight at the start of the chosen day, not a particular time of day. For an exam at two in the afternoon it will show zero days from that morning on: this is a calendar countdown, not an appointment one.
A date that does not exist is refused rather than quietly corrected. The 30th of February does not become the 2nd of March; the field stays empty and waits for a real date.
On the board’s canvas, the date and the name are kept from one session to the next, in your browser. No reminder is sent anywhere: the tool displays, it does not notify.
Frequently asked questions
How is it different from the timer?
The timer counts a work period in minutes, and you start it. This one counts days to a calendar date, and it moves on its own, with nothing to start and nothing to reset.
Does the count update itself?
Yes, continuously while the page is open, seconds included. And if you come back the next day it shows one day fewer, with nothing for you to do.
Can I show several countdowns?
Yes, on the board’s canvas: place several cards, each with its own date and name. That helps when two deadlines follow each other — a project hand-in, then the trip.
What happens after the date?
The count shows “The big day is here!” from midnight onwards. It does not run backwards or count the days since; for the next deadline, changing the date is all it takes.
